ABOUT US

ESTCOURT SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB

WHO ARE WE?

We are a club in Estcourt, Midlands, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa that organize outings and meetings for senior citizens (50 years and older) so they can escape the boredom of a small room / house and get some fresh air and exercise. Many older people are "locked up" and don't get the opportunity to go out regularly and this frequently leads to boredom and depression.

WHERE DO WE MEET?

We meet weekly (excluding holidays) at the Forderville Primary School hall in Forderville, Estcourt. Once a year (minimum) we take our members on a special excursion to a preselected venue (like Durban beachfront or a Drakensberg Resort).

WHAT DOES IT COST?

These senior citizens are among the poorest of the poor and many survive on just an old age grant (currentlly R1600.00 as of February 2017) or on family helpings. Therefore we can't chage a lot. We ask them a mere R10.00 a month or R100.00 a year for membership. This is due in January and new members pay PRO RATA for the rest of the year. We are a Non-Profit Organization and depends on donations to cover our costs.
